Ms. Maribel Aranibar

2nd Grade

My name is Maribel Rosales Aranibar and I’m delighted to teach 2nd grade at Hawking STEAM 2. I was born and raised in Bolivia; South America. I graduated from SDSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies to later achieve my Multiple Subject Bilingual Credential, also through SDSU, GoAztecs!

I love, and completely agree, with Hawking’s school vision that each child is gifted and talented in their unique way, and I have the courage, patience, perseverance, and resilience to try different strategies, resources, and activities to help them find their strength, as they enhance their wonderful minds embracing who they are.

I’m conscious of the different challenges that this year will bring due the pandemic; however, together we are a strong team, where everyone plays an important role. Certainly, Hawking STEAM is an example of teamwork where parents, staff, and teachers arduously work for the success of each student. I look forward to growing and thriving together as a family! GO Rockets!

Ms. Anna Johanns

2nd Grade

Hello! My name is Anna Johanns and I am so excited to begin my third year at Hawking STEAM Charter School 2 and my first year as a second grade teacher! I started my teaching career as a music teacher, long term substitute, and IA for the 3rd/4th teams!

I grew up in Iowa and attended Waldorf University for my undergrad. At Waldorf, I double majored in Music Education and Church Music with a Religion minor. I enjoyed singing in the choirs, playing percussion in the Wind Ensemble, and volunteering through local opportunities! Last year during Covid, I was fortunate enough to attend SDSU furthering my education and obtaining my multiple subject credential to go along with my single subject credential in Music.

I moved to California 2 and ½ years ago and was thrilled to be hired at Hawking. I love the family environment with student success and safety as our main focus. I love incorporating multiple subjects in lessons, project-based learning, and planning multisensory activities to reach all types of learners. One of my main goals is having a student centered classroom and integrating technology and manipulatives to reach maximum success for all students. I'm so excited for this new opportunity as a 2nd grade teacher and can't wait to get to know all my new students; along with continuing to build lasting relationships with previous students and all staff!
