My name is Brianna Watson and I teach 2nd grade at Hawking 2. I have been teaching at Hawking 2 since our school opened its doors, and I have loved every minute watching our school grow into what it is today!
I spent most of my life in the mountains of San Diego in Ramona, CA. I went to Cal State Long Beach for my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and teaching credential. Then I attended San Diego State for my Masters Degree in Reading Education, and my Reading Specialist Credential.
I strive to make learning fun and engaging for all my students. I work to challenge them and help them think critically in all areas of STEAM. I want my students to have a passion for school, and to inspire them to be lifelong learners! I look forward to having your child in my class! Go Rockets!
Hi my name is Bridget Ryan and I am a new second grade teacher at Hawing 2. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, which I earned while attending California State University Northridge. After living in the Los Angeles area my whole life, I decided to make a change and move down to beautiful San Diego and I have never looked back. I have been lucky enough to spend lots of time at Hawking 2 as a substitute teacher and I am extremely excited to finally call myself a Hawking Rocket!
I am a firm believer in hands on learning, which is both exciting and engaging. By teaching at a STEAM school, I look forward to integrating technology, science, math, engineering and the arts into other subjects, which will inspire the students to be critical thinkers in all areas. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring this new city, live music, hiking, reading and I’ve even landed myself a spot on my local dodgeball team! I aim to teach children the value of living a well-balanced, healthy lifestyle that can assist them in their future.
My name is Denisse Medina and I am excited to begin my second year as a 2nd grade teacher at Hawking 2. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with two bachelor degrees in Psychology and Social Behavior and Criminology, Law and Society. I obtained my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and masters from California State University, San Bernardino.
As a teacher at Hawking 2 I want to provide my students with a safe environment where they can grow both educationally and emotionally. I believe students need a support system, someone to believe in them in order to succeed academically. I want to motivate my students to keep striving for their dreams through education. I believe this can be accomplished by creating an all-inclusiveness classroom that accommodates all types of learners and by creating a positive learning environment. I look forward to this new year and all the new possibilities.
