Hello my name is Quincy Barnes and I am a fourth grade teacher at Hawking 2 STEAM Charter School. I was born and raised in Fresno, California. I moved to San Diego to attend the University of San Diego. After graduating with a Bachelors Degree, I earned my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a multiple subject teaching credential.  In my free time, I love to run along the beach, hike, and travel.

 

I am so thrilled to be at Hawking 2 this year. I am eager to design projects for my kiddos and immerse them in the wonderful world of STEAM. I am passionate in my commitment to two specific things: inspiring students’ love of learning and instilling a sense of self-worth among all students. I hope to guide my students emotionally, encourage them academically, and demand from them hard work and a can-do attitude. It’s going to be a great year with my fourth graders. 

My name is Hanna Liberson and I am a fourth-grade teacher at Hawking 2! I am originally from Virginia but have been living in San Diego for the past five years. I graduated from Hendrix College with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and then earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, as well as my Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Language Arts, from San Diego State University. This will be my third year at Hawking STEAM Charter 2 and I have worked in numerous educational roles over the past seven years. Outside of teaching, I love baking, gardening, going to the beach, and traveling! 

 

I am eager to facilitate your child’s educational journey! I love creating a collaborative environment where students are thinking critically and learning together. I am especially thrilled to do this at a STEAM school because I believe it offers ample opportunities for students to engage in interdisciplinary learning, cultivate leadership skills, and develop a lifelong passion for learning.

Hi my name is Bridget Ryan and I am a fouth grade teacher at Hawing 2. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, which I earned while attending California State University Northridge. After living in the Los Angeles area my whole life, I decided to make a change and move down to beautiful San Diego and I have never looked back. I have been lucky enough to spend lots of time at Hawking 2 as a substitute teacher and I am extremely excited to finally call myself a Hawking Rocket!

 

I am a firm believer in hands on learning, which is both exciting and engaging. By teaching at a STEAM school, I look forward to integrating technology, science, math, engineering and the arts into other subjects, which will inspire the students to be critical thinkers in all areas. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring this new city, live music, hiking, reading and I’ve even landed myself a spot on my local dodgeball team! I aim to teach children the value of living a well-balanced, healthy lifestyle that can assist them in their future.
